Advanced Fire Protection offer clients a support service to assist with Fire Risk Assessments and the development and supervision of your fire safety management programme. We can keep you compliant with a cost effective and jargon free service.

WHAT IS A FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT?
It’s an appraisal of your premises to enable you to identify fire hazards, those who might be in danger in the event of a fire and what preventative measures need to be taken.  A risk assessment needs to be carried out by a competent Assessor carrying sufficient qualifications, experience and expert knowledge of modern day fire safety legislation.

WHY DO I NEED ONE?
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 states that the ‘Responsible Person’ must have a Fire Risk Assessment and should make available a formal record of any significant findings and remedial measures which have, or may need to be, taken.

CAN I DO IT MYSELF?
Under the Order, the duty to carry out and implement a Fire Risk Assessment lies with the ‘responsible person’.

For small simple premises those with the responsibility for the premises are likely to be best placed to maintain fire safety precautions and understand and address the risk to lives and property that fire represents to those working there or visiting. This is providing that the responsible person makes enough time available to go through all the necessary steps.

However, for most premises, the ‘responsible person’ will need to seek the professional services of an external consultant ( Fire Risk Assessor).  In larger, more complex or high risk premises, this is often appropriate, as the task might well be beyond the ability of the responsible person.
